A sad farewell to the 100 Travel Telford service and Arriva Telford, with my last day being 26th August 2026. The service on which I was a driver from 6th December 2023 to 20th July 2025 with Chaserider (Cannock), and then continued on at Arriva Telford from 21st July 2025, when the Travel Telford tender contract shifted hands.
Grateful for all the memories I made on this service, and for the passengers whom I got to know quite well due to the nature of the route running through industrial estates of Hortonwood, Stafford Park and Halesfield. Always picking up the same people every day, took them to work, then brought them back home after a hard day's work. They always smiled, and I always made sure to greet them with kindness.
From September 15th 2026, I will be joining my former operations manager from Chaserider in Shrewsbury, as Chaserider (Centrebus) has won a few routes and the Shrewsbury Park & Ride contract. The routes 20, 23, 26, 64, 301, 558 and the Park & Ride service will be run under the Hotspur brand, based at a new depot in Harlescott (Battlefield). New town, new contract, new colleagues, brand new buses, new people to serve. Excited but also quite sad to let my 100 service go and the routine I had built.
